The Wall– A fourteen-foot barrier of pine planks commands plenty of respect, even from participants who have been over it before. This event is ideal for large groups, as it brings out team spirit. The task, of course, is for the team to get all of its members over the wall in the time allowed.
Both those scaling the wall and descending it should be spotted at all times. At the top of the wall is a small platform with room enough for two people to help a third person over. Only three people are allowed on the top platform at any one time. After a person has helped two others up, he or she must come down from the platform, and someone else must take his or her place. No props may be used on the ascent except a six-foot-long piece of nylon webbing.

Whatever the results, the wall is sure to be talked about and rehashed in detail long after the training is over. It is the standard grand finale at the end of the high-ropes course.

* Typically the grand finale to a day of challenge initiatives.

*Powerful in that it can serve as a metaphor for any obstacle that individuals or groups encounter in order to reach their goal.
